Lille rival Aston Villa in race for Stoke’s Sol Sidibé | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Lille OSC are very interested in Stoke City’s Sol Sidibé (18). The Parisian-born England youth international has made 21 appearances for the Championship club since earning his professional debut in 2023 at the age of 16.

His talents have not gone unnoticed, with Lille keeping close tabs on the young midfielder. However, they are far from the only club who are looking at trying to prize the teenager away from his formative team. In the Premier League, Aston Villa have been keen to secure his signature, while PSV and rivals Ajax are also in the running.

Foot Mercato writes that Sidibé is expected to be sold this summer, although he has a contract that runs until 2027. The midfielder is the son of Malian international Mamady Sidibé, who made his debut for Parisian club Red Star before spending most of his career in the English league.
