Lewandowski hails flawless execution against Alaves – “Did everything we planned” | OneFootball

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski expressed his delight following their recent match against Alaves, where he not only celebrated the team’s victory but also his impressive hat-trick.

Reflecting on the game, he shared his thoughts, highlighting that the team executed their game plan perfectly from the outset. Lewandowski is confident that after the upcoming break, the team will come back even stronger.

“We have done everything we had planned at the start of the match. We will come back stronger after the break,” said the forward as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

He emphasised how important it is to score early, noting that with three goals in the first half, the team was able to control the second half with ease.

“If you score three goals in the first half, you can play the second half under control.”

Discussing the overall form of both himself and his teammates, Lewandowski attributed their success to several factors.

He believes that the team worked exceptionally hard during the pre-season, forming a cohesive and talented group that has helped them improve in many areas that previously needed attention.

“There are many little things that influence it. In general, we worked very well in the pre-season and we have a very good group.

“With these players, we can play better and in general, in many things that were missing now we have improved,” he explained.

The demanding schedule, however, hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Polish striker. He admitted that he had never played so many matches in quick succession, with only two days of rest between each one.

“I have never played so many games in a row with only two days of rest between games.

“These days of rest will be good for the team, not for those of us who go to the national teams, but for the team: it will be good for them and there are several injured players who will return to the team.”

In short, Lewandowski’s optimism is rooted in the team’s progress and their potential to further improve after the break, ensuring they stay competitive in the demanding season ahead.
