Leicester City sign Republic of Ireland international Payne | OneFootball

Leicester City have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international full-back Heather Payne on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes earlier today.

The 25-year-old joins Leicester City after leaving former club Everton earlier this summer. Payne has signed a two-year deal at The King Power Stadium.

Payne started her senior career in her native Republic of Ireland with Peamount United before being picked up by Bristol City. The player then spent time in the American college system with the Florida State Seminoles before she returned to the English game with latest club Everton in 2023.

On the international stage, Payne has collected 51 senior caps for the Republic of Ireland while she has scored two goals for her country.

After joining Leicester City, Payne said “This is a place where I can develop, and I’ve heard really good things about the team itself and the staff.

“Belvoir Drive is an outstanding facility and that’s an added bonus having access to everything you need as a player. It looks really good and I’m excited to get to work there.”

Payne is Leicester City’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
