Chelsea are in action on Thursday in the UEFA Conference League. They take on Legia Warszawa in Poland in the early kick-off. So far, the Blues have a 100% win rate in the competition. They defeated FC Copenhagen in the Round of 16, while their opponents overcame Molde. Here are three things to look out for in the match.
Chelsea’s best three players going forward have been the trio of Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson. Despite the team as a whole struggling since mid-December, Chelsea looked even worse whenever the trio was missing. To make matters worse, Madueke and Jackson suffered injuries in back-to-back games in February.
Their absence also seemed to affect Cole Palmer’s form. The 22-year-old, who was himself struggling with injury, couldn’t maintain his level. But following the international break, all three have returned to fitness. Even though Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca hasn’t played them together yet for some reason, the trio could finally be reunited on Thursday in the Conference League.
Chelsea have done well in the competition so far. Palmer was excluded from the league phase, and Jackson was never brought in during that time. He was also absent during the Round of 16. If all three feature on Thursday, it would mark the first time this season that they’ve played together in Europe.
