Leeds United have reached an agreement in principle to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer, according to The Athletic.
The 28-year-old forward became a free agent this summer after bringing an end to his nine-year spell with Everton. He is now preparing to begin a new chapter in his career.
Calvert-Lewin is expected to undergo a medical at Thorp Arch soon, with the move likely to be confirmed once all formalities are completed.
Leeds have been active in the transfer market, strengthening their squad with several new arrivals. This includes goalkeeper Lucas Perri, who joined earlier in the summer window.
During his time at Goodison Park, Calvert-Lewin scored 71 goals in 274 appearances. His spell with Everton was affected by recurring injuries, which limited his playing time in recent seasons.
Despite those setbacks, he remains a proven Premier League striker with a track record of finding the net. His qualities could provide Leeds with a reliable attacking option as they look to compete strongly this season.
Calvert-Lewin is recognised for his strength, mobility, and aerial dominance. He uses his height and leaping ability to win headers, making him a constant threat from crosses and set pieces.
His style of play also allows him to hold up the ball effectively, link up with team-mates, and create chances. Off the ball, he presses aggressively, challenges defenders, and works tirelessly to win possession back.
Leeds see him as a player who can bring both physical presence and attacking intelligence to their forward line.
His ability to make well-timed runs and compete for long balls could suit their attacking approach.
The move marks another step in Leeds’ rebuild, as they aim to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion and long-term stability. If the medical goes as planned, the club will announce his arrival in the coming days.
