Leeds United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Noah Okafor from AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
The winger, who has endured three injury-riddled years at San Siro, will be the Whites’ tenth signing since winning promotion to the Premier League.
Okafor joined Napoli on loan in January after a loan move to RB Leipzig fell through due to a muscular injury. He picked up a Scudetto winner’s medal after making just four appearances, all off the bench.
The 25-year-old has scored 43 goals and created 24 assists in 191 games in all competitions over the course of his professional career.
Okafor will be hoping for a fresh start at Elland Road as Fabrizio Romano reports that there is a “deal in place” for Leeds to sign the player from Milan for a €20 million (£17.2m) transfer fee.
The Switzerland international will sign a four-year contract with the option for another year and is expected to undergo his medical in the next 24 hours.
The move follows Daniel Farke’s comments that Leeds need attacking reinforcements to avoid relegation this season, despite having already brought in forwards Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
“Especially in the offence it would be good to have a few more options available,” he told Sky Sports following their 1-0 home win over Everton on Monday night.
“With Dominic we got the first one. Hopefully pretty soon he will be involved, I’m quite sure.
“Like I mentioned before, we are ready for one, two, perhaps three, good Premier League games and I’m glad we got three points today.
“But to be ready for a long Premier League season, we definitely need a bit more quality up front.
“At this level, to bring players in who will improve our squad is pretty costly, but we’ve got ambitious owners and great people who work their socks off to give our club the best possible squad.
“I know everyone is really tempted to spend everything that is possible without risking the future of this club, so we won’t do anything stupid.”
