Lecce: ‘Trying to resist’ Manchester United pressure for Dorgu sale | OneFootball

Lecce President Saverio Sticchi Damiani insists they are ‘trying to resist’ the pressure from Manchester United to sell Patrick Dorgu in January, but fully expect another offer.

Lecce fighting off Manchester United attention for Dorgu

Dorgu is in the starting XI, as Lecce have rejected the most recent €30m plus bonuses proposal from Manchester United emissaries for the full-back.

Meanwhile, there are reports they already sealed an agreement for Danilo Veiga worth €1.5m.

“There are a series of situations in progress to complete the squad,” President Sticchi Damiani told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are trying to resist, as is logical, because it is in our interest to keep the players who are protagonists of this group. So far, our idea is to not sell anyone in January.”

Nonetheless, Lecce are also entirely confident that Manchester United will come back with an improved offer over the next few days for Dorgu.

The asking price is €40m for the 20-year-old, who can play on the right or left of defence or attack.

Lecce purchased him for just €200,000 from the Nordsjaelland youth academy in 2022 and so far this season he has contributed three goals and an assist in 20 Serie A appearances.
