Lazio sound out Maurizio Sarri for sensational return as manager | OneFootball

Serie A side Lazio are looking for a potential replacement for Marco Baroni, who is close to being sacked and they have now expressed their interest in former boss Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian had left Lazio in controversial circumstances in the middle of the 2023/24 season and Alfredo Pedulla has reported about his future.

The journalist, who is quite reliable when it comes to Sarri, has claimed that the Roman side have sounded out the ex-Juventus manager. There has been an internal conversation about the possibility of hiring him and Lazio players have also been asked about their opinion about a return for the veteran.

Sarri is yet to issue a response and he will think about his decision peacefully as he does not want to repeat the mistakes of the past. There are other solutions open for him but one thing is for sure that Lazio are one of the options.

Baroni is likely to be sacked on Thursday, when there will be a key meeting regarding the managerial hotspot.
