Lazio defender Alessio Romagnoli earned himself as spot in the Serie A Team of the Week following his Derby della Capitale exploits.
The 30-year-old was solid at the back against Roma, and more importantly, he broke the deadlock with a powerful header early in the second half. However, the defender’s goal was only worth a point, as Matias Soulè kept the Giallorossi’s 16-match unbeaten streak alive with a sensational long-range effort.
TuttoMercatoWeb identified Romagnoli as one of the standout performers in Serie A Round 32, but Soulè didn’t make the cut. Nevertheless, Roma were represented by their goalkeeper Mile Svilar who produced a host of saves to keep his team’s chances alive.
Milan was the most represented side after routing Udinese by four unanswered goals. Tijjani Reijnders, Theo Hernandez and Stahinja Pavlovic were all included in the lineup, as was Yann Bisseck who was on the scoresheet in Inter Milan’s 3-1 win over Cagliari.
The lineup also features a star-studded attack consisting of Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz, Serie A leading goalscorer Mateo Retegui, and Romelu Lukaku. The latter had a brilliant display on Monday night, as he combined with his Napoli teammate Scott McTominay (also on the list) to bring down Empoli.
