Lazio are keen to maintain the services of Alessio Romagnoli who has several suitors, including Aston Villa.
The 30-year-old joined his beloved club in the summer of 2022 following an eventful spell at Milan. But after a successful first season at Formello, his relationship with the hierarchy deteriorated when Claudio Lotito and Co. failed to keep their promise to increase his salary despite helping the club secure a place in the Champions League.
Even though he still has another two years on his contract, Romagnoli confirmed that his future at the club is no longer certain.
According to Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), this situation alerted several clubs that are looking to pounce on the opportunity to lure the centre-back away from Rome. The source confirms what has been previously reported about suitors from the Saudi Pro League, but also reveals interest from Aston Villa.

The Villains missed out on a Champions League spot on the final day of the Premier League campaign, but they still managed to book a place in the Europa League, so they’re still keen to strengthen their squad for next season.
Nevertheless, Lazio have no intention to part ways with Romagnoli, and they’re hoping that the return of Maurizio Sarri would play in their favor. The defender is highly esteemed by the 66-year-old manager who built his backline around him during his first stint at the Stadio Olimpico. But it remains to be seen if this will be enough to mend the fences between the player and the club.
