Lazio and Maurizio Sarri have reportedly made a decision on who to keep between Tijjani Noslin and Matteo Cancellieri.
The returning manager has decided to abandon Marco Baroni’s 4-2-3-1 system and reinstall his tried-and-trusted 4-3-3 formation. Hence, the Biancocelesti will require more central midfielders and fewer attackers. Sadly for Sarri, the transfer ban disallows him from reinforcing his middle of the park, but he at least gets to offload those deemed surplus to requirements.
As things stand in attack, Boulaye Dia and Taty Castellanos will be vying for the centre-forward role, while Pedro will deputize for Mattia Zaccagni on the left when required, although the Spaniard is equally capable of playing on the right side. Finally, Gustav Isaksen is considered the first choice on the right wing, leaving Noslin and Cancellieri to fight it out for the remaining spot.
According to Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Sarri is now in favor of keeping Cancellieri and sending Noslin packing. As the newspaper explains, the 66-year-old has found a more mature version of the Italian winger compared to the one he had during his original tenure at the club.

The 23-year-old has been impressive both in training and the first pre-season friendly against Lazio U20, scoring from a delightful long-range effort. On the contrary, Sarri realised that the Dutchman is too impulsive for his system, and requires too much time and effort to make the necessary adjustments.
Moreover, the management is in favor of this solution, as Noslin should be able to generate a higher transfer fee, at least in theory. Lazio will be looking to collect €15 million from the 25-year-old’s sale. On the other hand, the club had recently rejected an €8m offer from Olympiacos for Cancellieri.
