Lazio are reportedly determined to sign Nuno Tavares on a permament basis from Arsenal at the first window of opportunity, but his future might not necessarily lie in Rome.

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio will be looking to take advantage of the early transfer window between the 1st and 10th of June – which has been newly implemented based on the request of Club World Cup participants Inter Milan and Juventus – to finalize Tavares’ buy earlier than expected.

As the Roman newspaper explains, buying the Portugal international would allow the Aquile all the time they need to negotiate a potential sale throughout the summer. That being said, Lazio president Claudio Lotito won’t be willing to offload his star player on the cheap.
