Lamine Yamal’s father speaks out on Nico Williams’ Barcelona rejection | OneFootball

The father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Monday provided his take on the decision of Athletic Club star Nico Williams to turn down a move to the Camp Nou.

The name of wide-man Nico has of course dominated the headlines across Spain for several days now.

This comes after the 22-year-old shocked the masses, in rejecting a potential move to Barcelona for the 2nd year running.

After coming to an agreement on the terms of a contract with the Blaugrana several weeks ago, Nico pulled the rug out from underneath Deco and co, by suddenly signing a new long-term deal with Athletic Club.

As much is understood to have come as a major surprise to international teammate and close friend Lamine Yamal, who was eager to ply his club trade alongside Nico next season and beyond.

Speaking during an Instagram live appearance this week, the situation was in turn put to Lamine’s father.

And, in quotes relaid by Mundo Deportivo, Mounir Nasraoui attempted to raise the spirits of those of a Barca persuasion, in assuring:

“Nothing happens, we will continue watching Lamine.”
