With only a few weeks left till the end of this 2024-25 season, FC Barcelona are still competing for all the big trophies. While this situation provides them with the opportunity to obtain a lot of glory and success, it also means a very hectic schedule for the players, with at least two matches being played every week.

The players are already feeling the effects of playing so many games every week, and in his press conference before the game against Celta Vigo, Hansi Flick also did not hold back when criticising La Liga for the way it is scheduling the Blaugrana team’s games.

In fact, yesterday, the Catalans had reportedly sent a letter to La Liga to request a change in the time of the upcoming league matchday 34 game against Real Valladolid, for which Barcelona are set to visit Valladolid on May 3rd at 9 P.M.

The first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie is scheduled for May 6th at 9 P.M., and the Blaugranes had proposed moving the time of the match to either 2 P.M., 4:15 P.M., or 6:30 P.M., on the same day.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, La Liga has no intentions of accepting this request made by the Catalan club, as Barcelona were already aware of the schedules set for this matchday since April 7.

This match was originally scheduled to be played on May 4th at 2 P.M., while keeping the option of moving it to Saturday at 9 P.M., conditional on the schedules set for the second leg of the UCL semi-finals.

At that time, 14 days ago, the Catalans did not make any request to the league authorities to get the match scheduled at any of these 3 earlier slots if they advanced to the semi-finals of the UCL and had to play a match on Tuesday.

Barcelona did make a request for this purpose last week, after they had advanced to the next round in the UCL. However, La Liga believes this request was still not made at the proper time, and thus, they will not change the schedule for this match once again.
