La Liga president Javier Tebas has on Monday jokingly hinted at his relief at the fact that Barcelona were unable to sign all of their desired targets over the summer.
This comes fresh off Barca’s latest dominant domestic showing over the weekend.
Hansi Flick’s troops made the trip to El Madrigal on Sunday, ultimately emerging on the right side of a hugely impressive 5-1 result.
This made it six wins from six to open the campaign for the Blaugrana, who look a side completely reborn under the watch of new head coach Flick.
And one individual who appears to have been somewhat taken aback by the excellence of the Catalans comes in the form of the aforementioned Javier Tebas.
Speaking during a public appearance, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, on Monday, Tebas was drawn on Barcelona’s explosive start to the season.
And the La Liga chief, a known Real Madrid fan, in his response joked that he has been left relieved by the fact that the financial restraints at the Camp Nou prevented Barca from strengthening even further over the summer:
“I thank God that Barcelona have not signed more players, otherwise they would be winning games 10-0!”
