It has been a while since Kylian Mbappe’s salary dispute with Paris Saint-Germain came to light, with the forward reportedly being owed €55 million in unpaid dues.

The matter led to mulitple court hearings and even an open campaign against Mbappe by his former employers, which the forward labelled as a ‘smear campaign’.

And after months of silence, the matter has reopened again, with Mbappe now ready to go on the offensive.

Mbappe to take further legal actions

According to Mundo Deportivo, Mbappe has decided to ‘go on the offensive’ in the legal dispute against PSG.

As such, the Frenchman has decided to hire a team of three lawyers specialising in criminal, labour and litigation.

This move comes as part of his plans to secure the €55 million payment he feels he is owed by PSG, through unpaid salaries and bonuses.

In addition, Mbappe’s lawyer Delphine Verheyden has further confirmed that she has appealed to UEFA to prevent PSG from taking part in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

It appears Mbappe’s lawyers are relying on UEFA regulations that require all clubs to pay salaries to all players in order to be able to participate.

It remains to be seen whether or not Mbappe’s plea gets entertained by UEFA, but it is interesting to see the Frenchman going on the offensive against his former club.

It will be also interesting to see whether or not PSG come up with any rebuttal to Mbappe’s legal action or let the matter play out.
