Kevin De Bruyne has received offers from four Major League Soccer sides as he prepares to leave Manchester City this summer, it has been revealed.
It was confirmed earlier this month that City had opted against offering an expensive extension to the 33-year-old, who will instead walk away from the Etihad Stadium when his current contract expires at the end of the season.
De Bruyne has already ruled out retiring and has publicly admitted he is ready to be approached by any club with an interesting project. According to The Athletic, MLS sides have wasted little time in doing exactly that.
Inter Miami, Chicago Fire, New York City FC and D.C. United are all said to have expressed interest in De Bruyne and have "begun exploratory talks" over a blockbuster summer signing.
Of the quartet, it is Miami who are thought to hold the advantage as they have De Bruyne's discovery rights, meaning they have priority when it comes to negotiating a contract with the Belgium international.
However, Miami do not have any free designated player slots, meaning they can only offer a significantly reduced contract well below the salaries on offer from other clubs across the division.
It had previously been reported that De Bruyne's likeliest landing spot in MLS would be San Diego FC, but sporting director Tyler Heaps has openly admitted he does not know where the rumours have come from.
City, meanwhile, are searching for De Bruyne's successor. Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz is thought to be a key target, while Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White has also been mentioned as a possible option.
