A football reporter for The BBC has been explaining Chelsea’s transfer strategy in a nutshell and hearing it will frustrate many fans.
The news comes after Chelsea were defeated by Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, losing to a first half headed goal by Mikel Merino.
The game was obviously not without its drama and Chelsea fans saw what they expect to see every time Robert Sanchez starts, and that is him making a silly mistake and giving away a goal. This time he got lucky, but Maresca continued to back his goalkeeper at the full time whistle once again.
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber was seen mocking Maresca on the side lines in an interaction that has annoyed Blues fans even more.
All in all it wasn’t a good performance from Chelsea and it lacked intensity, desire, energy, and any kind of real belief that they could get something from the game.
We are now into an international break and a chance for Chelsea’s players and Maresca to have a bit of a reset before our next game against Tottenham!

Nizaar Kinsella of The BBC has put out a big article explaining many things about Chelsea’s project under the current owners and what they are trying to do right now in what looks to be a clear PR article sent from the owners directly.
It tries to explain and give reasons for why Chelsea are stockpiling young players and goes on to explain the strategy behind the thinking in one snippet I have pulled out below.
Kinsella says:
‘Buy young stars on lower wages, spread the payments over long contracts, keep flipping players and sell on unwanted talent for a profit – that is Chelsea’s strategy in a nutshell.’
Oh dear. Many fans will hate hearing this.
