Karim Benzema hits back at Cristiano Ronaldo’s Kylian Mbappé preference | OneFootball

In a video posted on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo (39) was given the choice to pick between former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema (36), also now plying his trade in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, or newly-signed Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé (25). “Mbappé,” replied Ronaldo with a smile.

Whilst former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward Ronaldo never played with Mbappé, he did play with Benzema. The pair featured together on 342 occasions for Real Madrid, combining for 76 goals for Los Blancos. A matter of hours later, Benzema posted a photo of his Ballon d’Or trophy, won back in 2022, on his Instagram story. The enigmatic post did not contain a caption.

Diario AS understands that Benzema’s post was in response to Ronaldo’s preference for Mbappé over himself. Mbappé has not yet won the Ballon d’Or. The France captain has been shortlisted for this year’s prize, although he is not one of the favourites to win it.
