Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram says his brother Marcus, an Inter striker, is ‘proud’ of him and is pleased that the Bianconeri often talk about the best way to ‘fight racism.’

The France midfielder visited students of an international French school in Turin, talking about his life on and off the pitch.

Thuram spoke about racism, an issue that is still too widespread, including in world football.

“At Juventus, we often discuss the best way to fight racism,” Thuram said via La Stampa.

“We need to find strong reactions and effective communication. We must oppose and report it. Staying silent and downplaying those who behave this way is useless. Every incident must be brought to light. These are unacceptable atrocities.”

Thuram joined Juventus from OGC Nice last summer, joining his older brother Marcus who had joined Inter in 2023.

“It’s a high-level league, and this is what we were looking for. We fit well here,” said the Juventus midfielder.

The Thuram brothers were born in Italy when their father Lilian played for Parma.

The 1998 France World Cup winner joined Juventus in 2001, a few months after Khephren was born and spent five years in Turin.

“My brother [Marcus] speaks Italian perfectly,” Khephren continued.

“I’m improving, and the matches are different and unique. There’s more attention to tactics than elsewhere. It’s a style of play that enhances intelligence, and the Thuram brothers fit right in. Turin has filled me with love, while in France, people are more focused on themselves.”

Marcus’ Inter are fighting for the title as they are the current Serie A table leaders, but they are also still involved in the Coppa Italia and Champions League.

“I’m the young brother, so I won’t start provocations,” the Juventus midfielder concluded.

“Marcus is proud of me, and I am happy for him. Our father is pleased that we are expressing ourselves at our best.”
