Juventus are examining potential transfer opportunities in Spain, with Arthur Melo’s situation the latest subplot in a market characterized by both speculation and strategic possibilities, according to Spazio J.
With the club eager to reshape its midfield, Arthur, having completed a productive loan year at Girona, finds himself out of Juventus’ immediate plans. Interest has surfaced from another La Liga side—Real Betis—where the head coach is reportedly an admirer of the Brazilian midfielder. This presents Juventus with an opening to explore a player swap that could address both clubs’ objectives.
Juventus are reportedly intrigued by Abde Ezzalzouli, the Moroccan winger who has shown promise at Betis after arriving from Barcelona. Ezzalzouli, a left-footed attacker born in 2001, registered notable performances last season and is on the radar of several top teams in Europe, including Napoli. The prospect of acquiring Ezzalzouli could fill a gap in Juventus’ forward line as they seek to inject more creativity and dynamism into their attack—particularly with Mbangula’s future uncertain.
For now, this potential exchange remains an idea rather than an active negotiation. No formal talks have begun for Ezzalzouli, and Betis are described as reluctant to lose one of their brightest young assets. However, Arthur’s positive campaign in Spain, coupled with Betis’ desire for midfield reinforcements, means Juventus’ bargaining position has improved. Juventus’ technical leadership, led by Damien Comolli, may eventually test Betis’ stance as the summer window progresses.
Juventus are juggling several other priorities at the moment, including high-profile pursuits such as Jonathan David and Jadon Sancho, and outgoings such as Dusan Vlahovic. This means that any deal involving Arthur and Ezzalzouli will have to fit within a broader transfer strategy targeting both immediate and long-term squad improvement, and will likely gain momentum only as negotiations on other fronts are resolved.
Nevertheless, the idea of leveraging outgoing players like Arthur to secure emerging talents from abroad is consistent with Comolli’s wider transfer approach this summer—a balancing act of investing in youth potential while reshaping the wage bill. With several weeks left in the summer market, Juventus could yet return to the table over Ezzalzouli if circumstances align.
