They should have weighed a long time ago whether the former was worth the investment, as he was never going to be cheap. Perhaps they thought they would have found a way out of the Vlahovic mess at this point. Considering their wages, that’d be a lot of resources dedicated to their attack, where they wouldn’t even be their top contributors, at the expense of other positions that are more lacking.
