Juventus took a moment to reflect on purchasing Randal Kolo Muani after almost reaching a complete agreement with PSG and are evaluating Nicolas Jackson as a fallback option, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
Bayern Munich are in the lead for the Senegalese forward. He recorded 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 matches with Chelsea after breaking out at Villarreal. He transferred to London for €37M two years ago.
Juventus started eyeing Jackson as they have some reservations about pulling the trigger for Kolo Muani. They’d have to spend €55/60M, with the formula of a loan with the obligation to buy. Moreover, he makes €7/8M annually.
While the ownership has signed off on the deal even with Dusan Vlahovic still on the squad, the brass is pondering whether to indeed go through with it. Director Damien Comolli told the press that the Serb had 99 percent chances of staying (via Virgilio). Instead, he announced that Nicolò Savona would transfer to Nottingham Forest. In addition, Nicolas Gonzalez is unlikely to depart.
According to TuttoSport, Milan tried again for the exiled center-forward before nabbing Christopher Nkunku but were given the impression that he simply didn’t want to leave Turin.
They should have weighed a long time ago whether the former was worth the investment, as he was never going to be cheap. Perhaps they thought they would have found a way out of the Vlahovic mess at this point. Considering their wages, that’d be a lot of resources dedicated to their attack, where they wouldn’t even be their top contributors, at the expense of other positions that are more lacking.
