Juventus surprise as Pogba interview not authorised | OneFootball

Tuttosport claims Juventus were surprised by Paul Pogba’s interview on Wednesday as the club had not authorised it.

Juventus midfielder Pogba released an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sports on Wednesday in which he said he was ready to take a pay cut to remain at the Allianz Stadium until 2026.

Pogba received a four-year ban after failing a doping test in August 2023, but the suspension was recently cut to 18 months, which means the French midfielder will be eligible to play starting in March 2025.

Pogba hopes to do so at Juventus, but the club seem willing to terminate the midfielder’s contract despite his desire to stay.

Tuttosport newspaper claims that the Old Lady did not even authorise Pogba’s recent interviews, which were recorded in Paris.

The Turin-based paper insists that Juventus are working to terminate the French midfielder’s contract before his return to action next year.

Pogba’s second spell in Turin began in 2022, but the ex-Manchester United midfielder has only made 12 competitive appearances for the Bianconeri since.
