Juventus coach Thiago Motta has dropped Andrea Cambiaso for this evening’s Champions League match against Manchester City, so Danilo and Nicolò Savona will start as full-backs.

Thiago Motta has surprisingly dropped Italy international Cambiaso for this evening’s Champions League game against Manchester City.

Cambiaso had suffered an injury against Bologna on Saturday but returned to group training yesterday.

Motta said at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday that Cambiaso would be available this evening, but the versatile Italian defender is not on the Juventus squad list that the Turin giants just released.

Cambiaso’s omission means that Savona and Danilo will start as the Juventus full-backs at the Allianz Stadium.

The Brazilian will start on the left, while Savona will play on the opposite side of the pitch. Pierre Kalulu and Federico Gatti will be the Juventus centre-backs against Pep Guardiola’s side.
