Ruben Amorim’s revolution at Manchester United this summer is going to rely largely on outgoings with the Portuguese head coach desperate to change the culture in and around Old Trafford.
Additionally, any sales will help fund the transfer kitty which is under the watchful eye of the Premier League Profit and Sustainability guidelines.
United have made it clear which players are up for sale in the market but finding suitors for the heavily paid and underperforming crop is proving difficult.
Jadon Sancho is one of those United are keen to offload in the coming months after a disastrous spell in Manchester. However, the Englishman’s salary demands are such that United will need to strike a cut price deal to get him out of the doors.
Interest has been registered by clubs on the continent with Turkish club Fenerbahçe now the front runners to end Sancho’s United nightmare.
As reported by Italian media, Juventus are also one of those clubs monitoring Sancho’s situation but he is not seen as a priority target by the Serie A giants.
Porto winger Francisco Conceição the number one choice to bolster Igor Tudor’s attacking options going into the new campaign. Juve are hoping to get a reduced price on Conceição’s €30 million release clause with a view to getting a deal over the line after the Club World Cup.
However, Porto are expected to stand firm in their stance of demanding the full amount which will leave the Italians with a decision to make.
Sancho is reported as an option for the Old Lady but only if they fail in their attempts to sign Conceição. This should serve as another blow to the inflated ego of Sancho after Chelsea stumped up £5 million to send him back to United despite having a obligation to purchase the winger permanently.
However, it seems Sancho is willing to dig his heels in with regards to his salary and won’t budge far enough away from the eye watering wage he is earning at United.
Amorim has instructed INEOS to move the 24-year-old on and the hierarchy at United are also keen to secure a permanent deal for a player who is taking up a sizable chunk of the wage bill.
Should the likely parting of ways materialize, Sancho will surely go down as one of the worst signings in United’s history and rather sums up the woeful performance in the transfer market by the club over the last decade.
