Jonathan David (25) are nearing an agreement with former Lille OSC striker Jonathan David (25), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
Lille confirmed towards the end of the previous Ligue 1 season that David would leave the club upon the expiry of his deal.
David leaves LOSC five years after joining from KAA Gent for a €27m fee. Over the course of his stay at the French club, he has won a Ligue 1 title, whilst he has also netted 109 times in 231 games. Last season, he has 25 goals in 48 games in all competitions.
The Canada international has attracted significant interest. He was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Chelsea and West Ham United were notable suitors. However, the most intense interest has come from Italy.
Napoli were in talks to sign the striker, however, he now looks on the verge of completing a move to Juventus. As per Romano, they are close to reaching an agreement with the player. Negotiations are ongoing with the Turin-based club hoping to be given the green light soon.
