Manchester United’s Premier League defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday saw plenty of senior stars let Ruben Amorim down but not Academy graduates.

Alejandro Garnacho enjoyed yet another fine outing following his heroics against Olympique Lyonnais last Thursday but his future continues to be the subject of intense rumours.

It is no secret that the Argentine has struggled since January with the United head coach forced to start the 20-year-old in almost every game in the absence of Amad, who is still injured and Marcus Rashford and Antony, both of whom have left the club.

There is also interest from Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen while Tutto Juve have now claimed that Juventus are also keen on the Argentina international.

“Alejandro Garnacho could be living his last months as a Manchester United player. The Argentine winger, just 20 years old, does not feel comfortable under the orders of Portuguese coach Rúben Amorim.

“According to sources close to the English club, United would not pose major obstacles to his possible departure next summer, provided that a convincing offer arrives.

“In this scenario, there are already several teams that have made a clear offer for Garnacho: Inter, Napoli and Atletico Madrid. It is worth noting that the price for the player could exceed 50 million euros. Juventus is also following him.”

United ready to sell

Napoli had seen their €50 million get rejected with the Red Devils holding out for €80 million. Whether the Bianconeri will offer the same remains to be seen.

Garnacho has 10 goals and nine assists this season and his contract with the 20-time English league champions is valid until 2028.

In January, Amorim had fought with INEOS for his stay but his form has not been up to his usual high standards recently. His sale represents pure profit owing to his homegrown status and given the club’s financial woes, the co-owners could decide to move him on.

It would take quite the turnaround for INEOS to change their minds at this point even though fans would be devastated should the club choose to sell one of their academy’s finest graduates.
