A third goal of the season for Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners set Juve off and running inside just two minutes of action when the former Atalanta man slotted home after Dušan Vlahović played him through.

Turkish starlet Kenan Yıldız extended Juve's lead by a second goal in the 33rd minute when the 19-year-old arrived in the box to calmly convert Vlahovic's lay-off, with the Serbian frontman now sitting on a brace of assists on the night.

La Vecchia Signora were in full control come the half-time whistle, and looked almost guaranteed to at least find a third before the end of 90 minutes once the second-half got underway.

Though unable to find another goal, Juve remained on course to secure all the points on offer, but a late strike from Lecce's Federico Baschirotto in the 87th minute threatened the night in the dying minutes as Marco Giampaolo's side looked to turn spoiler.

Juventus would ultimately hold on, however, with this result temporarily moving them up to third in the table ahead of a crunch Atalanta-Bologna clash to kick-start Serie A's match progamme on Sunday.

As for Lecce, the southern side now faces the prospect of dropping into the bottom three should Empoli earn a shock result at Napoli on Monday.
