Barcelona fans have been waiting eagerly to see their team step onto the pitch in the brand-new home shirt for the 2025/26 season.

After two league matches without a debut, SPORT now confirms that the Blaugrana have the green light to wear the new home kit when they face Rayo Vallecano next Sunday.

In the first two matchdays, Barça were forced to play in last season’s green away kit.

At Son Moix against Mallorca and later at the Ciutat de Valencia against Levante, La Liga’s Kit Selector rejected all three of Barcelona’s new designs due to colour clashes.

Even the third kit, which is orange, was ruled out. As a result, the team had to use a uniform that belonged to the past campaign.

As a result, fans grew tired of watching their stars wear last season’s kit in official games, especially after having already seen the new designs in pre-season friendlies.

It is important to note that the club itself does not decide which shirt to use for each game.

The final choice is made by the match director, who validates the uniform combinations uploaded to La Liga’s Kit Selector system.

Against both Mallorca and Levante, none of Barcelona’s three new kits passed the filter due to chromatic similarities.

That chapter now comes to an end. Rayo Vallecano’s white shirt with a red stripe poses no conflict with Barcelona’s traditional colours.

For the first time this season, the Blaugrana will wear their 2025/26 home kit, which features a modern blurred design, giving it a fresh and dynamic look.

With the kit issue resolved, both Nike and the fans can finally look forward to the long-awaited debut, marking the true start of Barcelona’s new season.
