After having landed the Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia after paying his release clause, FC Barcelona also faced a significant setback in their market operations as they were unable to sign their preferred target for the left wing position, i.e., Nico Williams.
The Spanish star was linked with the Blaugrana club for some weeks before he decided to renew his contract with Athletic Club till 2035.
However, this failure has not caused the Catalans to give up on their pursuit of a new winger, and now, they are once again being closely linked with the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz.

The €70 million-rated Colombian winger would be a very exciting signing for Barcelona, and in addition to his performances for a top club like Liverpool, the words of his former coach, Jurgen Klopp, also showcase his personal and sporting abilities.
The German coach and the Colombian winger worked together from 2022, when Diaz joined Liverpool, to 2024, when Klopp left the Merseyside club.
As Mundo Deportivo has highlighted, the German coach highlighted some of the best qualities of the star forward before he made his official debut with Liverpool.
Talking about Diaz back then, the German coach said:
“He has everything needed to fit into our team and adapt to the Premier League, both physically and mentally. He’s a player who is hungry for success and knows that you have to fight to get what you want. He’s a fighter, no doubt. He’s a skillful team player who always has winning in mind.”
“Luis is a player we believe will make us better now and in the future. He has many interesting movements and great character.”
The German coach also highlighted another personal characteristic of the winger at that time:
“Luis is a good guy. I had never seen a player constantly smiling during a rondo; you can tell he’s enjoying himself.”
Over the years, Luis Diaz has also shown these characteristics on the pitch. It remains to be seen whether he will play for Barcelona, but if he does, he will be a very exciting signing for the Blaugranes.
