As reported by Cadena SER, who quote from various English media outlets, the 25-year-old could be drawn away from his boyhood club on a free transfer next summer by the promise of success in Madrid.

The Liverpool captain failed to dispel the rumours of a departure when he spoke to English media following Liverpool’s match against Bournemouth and refused to look further than this summer when it comes to his future at the club.

Many also point to the draw that being the subject of interest of Real Madrid can create: ‘If there is interest from Real Madrid, I don’t think as a player you can turn that down.’ said former Premier League midfielder Andros Townsend.
