Olympique de Marseille reportedly wanted to sell Jonathan Clauss (31) late in the January transfer window, however, having failed to do so, the club have once again opened the door for a departure this summer, according to a report from La Provence.

OM sporting director Mehdi Benatia publically questioned Clauss’ commitment to the club earlier this season, which precipitated a last-gasp attempt to sell the France international. Clauss was offered to West Ham United, via intermediaries, in the dying stages of the winter transfer window, according to L’Équipe.

Clauss himself stated his desire to remain at the Vélodrome, however, there are questions once again being posed about his future with Les Phocéens. La Provence understand that Clauss is being followed by numerous teams in Europe’s top five leagues and he could be allowed to leave.

As things stand, there are currently no negotiations over a contract extension, with Clauss’ current deal set to expire at the end of next season.
