John Terry has claimed he’d take 11 of Marc Cucurella and believes his attitude and the way he defends is “world class.”

The Blues are preparing for Wednesday night’s Conference League final against Real Betis in Poland, and are looking to follow up Champions League qualification by lifting their first piece of silverware under the new ownership.

A win would mark a successful season for the Blues and would absolutely give them something to build on heading into the Club World Cup next month and the new campaign.

Terry hails “world class” Cucurella

It will be interesting to see what team selection Enzo Maresca goes with having heavily rotated throughout the competition, but Cucurella is one player who’s likely to start.

The Spain international has had a brilliant season, scoring a number of crucial goals and has been a standout performer for the Blues.

Cucurella has been labelled as one of the best left backs “on the planet” by Robert Sanchez, and club legend John Terry has now hailed the 26-year-old.

“Cucurella, every time I see him, as a Chelsea fan which I am, I would take 11 of him week in week out because the attitude and the way he defends is world class,” he told talkSPORT as cited on X.com.

The Spaniard appeared in 36 of Chelsea’s 38 league games, scoring five goals, including a crucial winner against Manchester United earlier this month.

Chelsea target Hato

For as good as Cucurella has been the Blues don’t have an alternative left back in the squad, with Renato Veiga likely to leave this summer after joining Juventus on loan in January.

If anything were to happen to the former Brighton man Chelsea would have a problem and Reece James and Malo Gusto have filled in at times this season.

The Blues have identified Ajax star Jorrel Hato as a target and could move to bring the teenager in to provide cover, but they will need to move fast as Liverpool are also said to be interested.
