Joe Rodon marked a major milestone when he took to the Emirates Stadium pitch on Saturday, as the defender made his 100th appearance for Leeds United.
Since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, the Wales international has been a mainstay in Daniel Farke’s defence, helping guide the Whites back to the Premier League and establishing himself as one of the club’s most reliable performers.
Since making his debut at Birmingham City on 12th August 2023 - stepping off the bench in the 92nd minute to replace Jamie Shackleton - Joe Rodon has gone on to play 8,816 minutes for the Whites. In that time, he has battled, led, and stood strong at the back, helping Leeds United to 60 wins and cementing his place as a key figure in the team’s success.
Joe Rodon has been a rock at the back for Leeds United, helping the Whites to an incredible 48 clean sheets in his first 100 appearances. Forming part of what Daniel Farke has proudly called the “Welsh Wall” alongside Ethan Ampadu, Rodon’s very first shutout came in a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, while his most recent arrived in a 1-0 Premier League win over Everton. The Wales international has consistently stood tall for the club.
Joe Rodon’s impact at Leeds United goes far beyond his defensive presence. Across his 100 games, he has completed 6,951 passes with an impressive 89.5% accuracy, showing his composure on the ball. Aerially dominant with 265 duels won, he has also made 91 interceptions and 58 vital blocks to keep the Whites secure at the back. His range of passing is clear with 268 accurate long balls, while further upfield he has contributed 26 key passes, created three big chances, and even chipped in with a goal of his own — underlining his all-round value to the team.
Joe Rodon was a rock at the heart of Leeds United’s defence in our triumphant 2024/25 Championship campaign, playing almost every minute across all 46 league matches. His consistency and composure set the standard at the back, while his memorable goal against Derby County proved a key moment in the title race. Rodon’s leadership and reliability made him one of the first names on the teamsheet, and fittingly, he was on the pitch at Home Park on the final day as Leeds sealed promotion in style, lifting the Championship trophy after a dominant season that saw the Whites return to the Premier League.
