Jess Naz was appreciative of the support that the Club has shown in her journey so far as she put pen to paper on a new contract.

The England youth international, who received a maiden call-up to the senior Lionesses squad earlier this month, recorded one of her best seasons for us, establishing herself as an integral part of Robert Vilaham’s attacking style of football over the duration of the 2023/24 campaign.

Featuring in all our Barclays Women’s Super League games this term, the only player in our squad to do so, Jess was rewarded with a new contract, which will run until 2027, and she was full of praise on how the Club has helped over the years.

“I have been here for a while now and over the years I have developed, I would say this is probably one of my best seasons, so I’m happy to tick it off with a new deal,” she told SPURSPLAY.

“Having them (the Club) accept me at a young age to allow me to play first team football, I always give thanks to Karen [Hills] and Juan [Armos] for letting me in and the way the Club has grown, the ambitions they have got, the help I have received, even when I did my ACL, the support they gave me, it was only right I paid them back.”

The 23-year-old has been part of our incredible journey over the last five years, having joined the Club in the summer of 2018, she was part of the squad that secured promotion to the WSL for the first time in 2019 and, four years later, our number seven walked out at Wembley Stadium as we competed in our first-ever Women’s FA Cup Final.

Reflecting on the growth over the last few years, Jess added: “After the FA Cup Final, it was like a ‘wow’ moment, how far we have come, what we have achieved in this year and it’s just the beginning. I’m very proud to see how far we have come with the group of players and there is still so much more to come.”

Currently one of our longest-serving players in the team, having just completed her fifth season at the Club and recently reached a century of appearances for us, the forward netted an impressive seven goals in what was her best return in a campaign to date, while also registering four assists.

“I have enjoyed it,” when looking back at the season. “Playing with the freedom Robert [Vilahamn] has given me, utilising my strengths, which might me be playing in the number nine, but that’s what has helped me grow in confidence."

Jess rounded off her terrific campaign by scoring the second goal in our 3-1 victory over West Ham United last weekend in the WSL season finale which was played in front of another large crowd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and she acknowledged the impact our supporters have had.

“They have been massively important, cheering us on when we are down and they have given us the energy to go on and win games, the roar, the screams when we do score just gives us that little bit of energy to push on,” she said.
