Nantes midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin (29) is set to leave Les Canaris this Monday and sign for Swiss Super League side FC Zurich, according to Ouest-France. The Ivory Coast international has struggled to settle at Nantes and hold down a regular role under the tutelage of Antoine Kombouaré.
Gbamin has made seventeen appearances so far for Nantes, but he only started twice for the Ligue 1 side. The former Everton midfielder reportedly left Nantes’ squad this morning on the back of their away win at Reims. The outlet understands that Nantes have terminated Gbamin’s one-year deal to allow him to leave. Nantes have already secured his replacement with Francis Coquelin.
