Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho has admitted that it is "annoying" he isn't doing better in front of goal after drawing another blank during the weekend win over Leicester City.
Chelsea won 1-0 to rise into the top four at Manchester City's expense, but Sancho endured a 16th straight game without managing to score for the club.
Sancho's last goal came in the 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur on 8 December. In the intervening period, the 24-year-old has started regularly but has also registered just a single assist – against Crystal Palace in January – for only one goal involvement in three months.
Speaking to Chelsea's in-house media, Sancho referred to his progress as "step by step".
He explained: "I know I can do better, especially in front of goal. It's kind of annoying not to score. But I know it will come, [I] just have to take time and be patient."

Overall, Sancho has scored twice and assisted six times since joining Chelsea on loan from Manchester United last summer. It is a better return than he achieved during a broken 2023/24 campaign, but is still two goal involvements shy of ten from the 2022/23 campaign.
Sunday's win over Leicester, following on from victory against Southampton, made it successive Premier League triumphs for Chelsea for the first time in 2025. With a bit of momentum over the final ten games of the season and returning players returning to fitness, the Blues have a strong chance of qualifying for the Champions League for the first time since 2022.
"It's a great position to be in," Sancho said of reclaiming a top-four place. "Obviously we want to play Champions League football next year, that's the aim, but it's going to be very tough. We've got a few hard fixtures, home and away, so we just have to keep at it and give it 100% all the time."
