Manchester United are never far from controversy, and there was an incident after the match against Viktoria Plzen that has been making the news.

Rasmus Hojlund came on as a substitute for Marcus Rashford in the second half and scored two goals. The 21-year-old could have completed a hat-trick late on.

Amad Diallo decided to go on his own instead of passing the ball to Hojlund in stoppage time.

Moments later, the striker chose not to pass the ball to the Ivory Coast international winger.

There was a heated argument between Diallo and Hojlund at full-time, but United manager Ruben Amorim was not bothered.

Amorim told Sky Sports after the match: “Yes (I was aware of that), and for me it’s perfect.

“You know, in this moment, we need to feel something. If we need to fight each other, it’s like a family.

“For me, it’s a very, very good sign. We need to feel something, and that is important.”

Amorim’s comments give an insight into his man-management style. He is clearly someone who wants his players to compete with each other and give their all for the club.

While it is not great to see two teammates arguing at the end of a match, the incident indicates that both players are keen on scoring and impressing Amorim.

The way Amorim handled the incident in public shows that he is a very responsible manager who knows how to deal with the media.

The Portuguese boss may have spoken to Hojlund and Diallo privately, but he is putting up a united front in public. That is a healthy sign, which bodes well for the club.
