Italy Women ended 2024 on a high note after claiming a 2-1 win over Germany.

Scorers: Rauch 51'; Bonfantini 11', Cantore 74'

Agnese Bonfantini opened the scoring for the visitors on 11 minutes with a slotted finish after Michela Cambiaghi had seized on a defensive mishap in the build-up.

Christian Wück's side struck back early in the second half through Felicitas Rauch's header from a cross by Vivien Endemann to beat Laura Giuliani down to her right.

But the Azzurre retook their lead during the closing stages when debutant Ena Mahmutovic's attempt to play the ball out allowed Sofia Cantore to pounce.

Both teams return to action in late February's Nations League fixtures with Italy taking on Wales while the Frauenteam travel to the Netherlands.
