Italian newspapers strongly criticise referee Ermanno Feliciani for making a ‘wrong decision’ by disallowing an early Monza goal against Milan.
The Brianzoli were furious after a 1-0 loss against Milan on Saturday as match official Feliciani disallowed a Dany Mota Carvalho goal at minute seven.
Feliciani saw a Warren Bondo push on Theo Hernandez in the build-up, so the goal didn’t stand.

Ex-Milan defender Nesta, now the Monza coach, was furious with the referee and Italian sports papers on Sunday agreed that the 33-year-old official made a wrong decision.
Journalist Matteo Dalla Vite wrote on Gazzetta dello Sport page 2 that Feliciani ‘wrongly’ disallowed Monza’s goal as Bondo’s push was ‘not a real foul.’
Feliciani was rated 4.5/10 on the pink paper and Tuttosport.
Other sports newspapers were just as harsh on the match official.
Corriere dello Spor rated the referee 5, saying that Bondo’s push was light and that the intensity and the whistle’s timing made the decision controversial and debatable.
On page 10, Tuttosport said the officiating was ‘inconsistent’ because the referee did not punish stronger challenges than Bondo’s push.
