One Chelsea player has admitted that his side can do better saying it wasn’t the perfect performance in their Club World Cup win.

Chelsea beat Los Angeles FC 2-0 in their Club World Cup opening group game last night in what was a very strange and subdued atmosphere in front of just 22,000 people in a huge stadium.

EXCLUSIVE! Bayern Munich have made contact with Chelsea regarding signing one of their defenders!

It was far from vintage Chelsea but in the end they just got the job done and three points on the board to set them up for a good starts.

The goals came from a lovely Nicolas Jackson assist to Pedro Neto to finish in the first half. And then new signing Liam Delap also provided a superb assist for Enzo Fernandez to run into the box and tap in to score.

Chelsea were sloppy at times

In the second half in particular, Chelsea had concentration  lapses and became a bit sloppy at times and in fact, if it wasn’t for a string of good saves from Robert Sanchez, they’d have conceded a couple of goals.

We know Chelsea can play much better but they got the job done on the night and it was all about getting those three points in the group stages.

Colwill says Chelsea were not perfect

Levi Colwill speaks to Chelsea TV.

Defender Levi Colwill was reflecting after the game in words via The Chelsea website. He said:

‘The most important thing was to get the win and that’s what we have done,’ Colwill said. ‘We picked and chose our moments where we could attack and where we could keep the ball. It wasn’t the perfect performance, but in tournament football, you just need to win.

‘We’re coming up against different teams and that will be a huge challenge, but we’re going to enjoy it and learn different things. The tournament has kicked off, and our focus is on the next game now.’

‘To take a clean sheet is the most important thing for the defenders,’ he continued.

‘You know we’ve got amazing attackers and they always score goals. So for us defenders in the team, we need to keep clean sheets to win games. And of course they had their chances, but hopefully next game we can minimise them.’
