Kieran McKenna has lost the likes of Liam Delap to Chelsea and Kalvin Phillips at the end of his loan spell from Manchester City, meaning replacements are needed before the Tractor Boys can mount a push for a return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.
It's sure to be a busy summer at the club as a result, with a significant number of incomings and outgoings expected.
Football League World rounds up all the latest news coming out of Portman Road.
A major twist has emerged in the transfer saga surrounding Jens Cajuste.
The Swedish international midfielder looked set to join Turkish side Besiktas, but an intervention at the 11th hour by Ipswich has stalled talks.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano had reported that Besiktas were in line to sign the 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Portman Road from Napoli.
Now, fresh details from Football Italia have revealed that the insertion of Ipswich into the conversation has caused Cajuste to pause and reassess his options.
The midfielder would have remained at Town had McKenna's men avoided relegation, with a £10m obligation to buy Cajuste voided by their return to the second-tier.
West Ham United and Everton are both keen on Omari Hutchinson, with the Under-21s European Championship winner with England now attracting interest from a number of Premier League sides.
Football Insider have reported that the Hammers are one of the clubs interested, alongside Everton, after Hutchinson scored in England's U21s Euros final victory over Germany.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown said: “That tournament has done him a few favours because it’s sparked more interest in his situation when it looked to have died down a bit."
It's understood that Hutchinson has a £35m release clause in his contract with the Tractor Boys, following the club's relegation to the Championship.
The centre-forward position at Town has been much-talked about since Delap left a gaping hole up top for the Tractor Boys.
Over a month ago, Ipswich were linked with a move for Emmanuel Latte Lath. It would see him return to the Championship, after he swapped Middlesbrough for the MLS outfit Atlanta United in the winter window.
The Northern Echo reported that Ipswich were "lining up" the striker as a replacement for Delap, but no fresh updates have since emerged.
Elsewhere, current Town striker George Hirst has penned a new deal with the club, keeping him at Portman Road until the summer of 2029 on a four-year contract.
The 26-year-old has scored 19 times across 81 appearances for the club.
Off-the-field, Ipswich have unveiled their new kits for the 2025/26 campaign.
The v-neck Umbro designs are fitted with the classic blue for the home strip, while the colour details a red away shirt.
Ed Sheeran's 'Tingly Ted’s' hot sauce appears as the sleeve sponsor, with Halo on the front of both designs.
The fits are a nod to the 30th anniversary of the current club badge.
