With the clock ticking down towards the start of the new season, 29 Eintracht players took to the training pitches at Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday.
The thermometer showed 30 degrees Celsius but it felt a lot hotter in Frankfurt as 29 Eintracht players took to the Deutsche Bank Park training pitches as preparations for the new season enter the final stretch.
Just a day earlier, 20,000 fans had been on the premises for the Eintracht Family Day as the squad for 2025/26 was officially introduced to them. The team’s first competitive match of the upcoming season is just around the corner on Sunday 17 August (kick-off 13:00 CEST) in the DFB Cup first round away to FV Engers 07.
Thursday’s session was an intensive one with plenty of flat-out sprinting drills. In between drinks breaks, head coach Dino Toppmöller showed his players tactical pointers on the big video screen, before putting the ideas into practice moments later.
Positioning, rest defence and getting back into formation after losing possession were among the topics looked at. That was followed by diverse game formats with different focuses and formations, ending with a match across a full-sized pitch.
Eintracht have two more training sessions planned this week before heading off to Engers on Saturday. As such, pre-season is now drawing to a close, having begun with performance tests at the ProfiCamp at Deutsche Bank Park on 7 July. In just a few days’ time, the new campaign will get underway.
