Scorers: Correa 17', Thuram 22', 25', De Vrij 31', Bisseck 41'
Inter were utterly dominant in the opening 45 minutes as they demolished Hellas Verona by a 5-0 scoreline.
The Nerazzurri stormed to a huge lead in the first half, the first goal coming when Marcus Thuram slipped in Joaquín Correa, who lifted his shot over goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò at the near post.
The pair then swapped, as a long ball from Correa split the Verona defence, allowing Thuram to finish when one-on-one with Montipò.
Just three minutes later, another long ball put Thuram in a solo contest against the goalkeeper again, and he made no mistake in delivering his brace.
This really was a one-sided contest, and when Kristjan Asllani pulled the ball back inside the box, he found Stefan De Vrij in space, allowing the central defender to finish high into the net.
Some neat passing movement in and around the box then created another chance for the Nerazzurri, as Yann Bisseck finished with an outrageous backheel while face down on the floor into the penalty area.
The result sees the Nerazzurri move to the top of the table, albeit temporarily with the other teams all still to play.
Next up in Serie A is Milan's clash with Juventus at San Siro, as the Rossoneri look to close the gap to sixth place in the table.
