Inter Milan Targeting Genoa & Parma Stars – But Must Sell Ex Napoli Midfielder First | OneFootball

Inter Milan are reportedly targeting Morten Frendrup and Mandela Keita, but would have to sell Piotr Zielinski first.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are thinking about a shakeup in midfield, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The aim would be to bring in a player suitable for the central positions in the 3-4-2-1 formation that coach Cristian Chivu is aiming to transition the team to playing.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri want a physical, dynamic player with strong tackling and ball-winning ability. A midfielder who can cover extra ground behind the attack.

And according to the Gazzetta, there are a couple of names from within Serie A on Inter’s list.

Inter Targeting Frendrup & Keita – Zielinski Must Leave First

Inter have long been admirers of Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup. And the Dane is a player who would certainly add muscle to the Nerazzurri’s midfield options.

Genoa would want at least €20 million to sell Frendrup this summer.

That is also the same price bracket for Mandela Keita of Parma. The Emilians paid around €15 million to sign the Belgian last summer, and would expect to sell him on for a profit.

Keita is a player who Inter coach Cristian Chivu is already familiar with, having worked with him at the Stadio Enrico Tardini.

And like Frendrup, Keita certainly has the profile of an athletic, ball-winning midfielder who could support the attack.

To make an investment in either of these players, however, Inter would have to make room in midfield.

Firstly, Kristjan Asllani must head for the exit door. There is no doubt that Inter want to sell the Albanian, as he does not have the right profile for Chivu’s midfield.

Then, Inter would also have to sell Piotr Zielinski, who is more of a creative midfielder than a physical defensive screen.

The Polish international’s €4.5 million net per season wages could make him difficult to offload, however.
