Inter Milan are in talks with Dinamo Zagreb to sign midfielder Petar Sucic.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri want to sign the 21-year-old Croatian international in January and then leave him at Dinamo on loan.
Inter are looking to lower the average age of their squad. That is no secret.
Nerazzurri owners Oaktree Capital want to revitalize a squad that has a very high average age. For this purpose they have signalled that they are willing to invest in signings, but mainly younger players.
And one name that has emerged on Inter’s radar if Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Petar Sucic.
According to Di Marzio, Inter are serious about trying to sign Sucic.
The Nerazzurri have made their interest in signing the Croat clear to Dinamo.
Di Marzio reports that the two clubs are still some way away from an agreement. However, the talks are serious and not just a matter of Inter sounding out a move.
According to the Sky transfer expert, Inter’s intention would be to sign Sucic during the January transfer window.
However, the Nerazzurri would then aim to leave the 21-year-old on loan at Dinamo for the rest of the season.
Sucic is a full Croatian international as of September of 2024. He has won five caps so far for his national team.
Inter have a notable recent history with Croatian players. The likes of Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic, and Mateo Kovacic have all worn the Nerazzurri shirt in the past decade.
