Inter Milan hope to make Joaquin Correa change his stance on his future by omitting him from their Champions League squad.

According to Sport Mediaset, as reported by FCInterNews, that’s the club’s last-ditch attempt to force the Argentine’s exit.

Correa’s future at Inter has been the elephant in the room since the beginning of the summer.

Despite Nerazzurri’s genuine ambition to get his wages off their books, the 30-year-old has other plans.

He has already knocked back several proposals.

River Plate and Estudiantes tried to lure the Inter flop back to his homeland. But their efforts fell flat.

The same goes for AEK Athens. They considered Correa’s arrival in July, only to receive the player’s resounding ‘no.’

With just over one week left before the deadline day, Inter risk getting stuck with their out-of-favor star for another year.

Correa’s contract at Giuseppe Meazza expires in 2025. Therefore, he’s in no hurry to leave.

As for Inter, they cannot afford to let him go on a free transfer.

They arranged his arrival from Lazio for a hefty price three years ago. As such, they are unwilling to register a capital loss on his exit.

Inter Milan Plan To Entice Joaquin Correa To Leave Club Cia Champions League List Omission

Inter boss Inzaghi has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t see Joaquin Correa as part of his project.

Therefore, it’s only natural to assume he doesn’t want the ex-Sampdoria man to occupy a valuable Champions League slot.

The inevitable omission from the European list could be Inter’s last resort in ongoing efforts to offload their unwanted property.

With the transfer window approaching its climax, the Nerazzurri hope to ramp up interest from Saudi Arabia.

Although Correa was previously adamant he wouldn’t join a club outside Europe’s elite leagues, this is a potential game-changer.

He’d reportedly evaluate potential proposals from the Middle East.
