Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that his team’s winning run in Serie A and the Champions League is a “positive sign” after they beat Torino yesterday.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke in a press conference after the 3-2 thriller, as reported by FCInterNews.

Inter made it three wins on the bounce against Torino yesterday.

The Nerazzurri had beaten Udinese by a 3-2 scoreline last weekend. Then, in midweek they were in action in the Champions League – they routed Red Star Belgrade 4-0.

This whirlwind week came after Inter had suffered their first big setback of the season. Last month the Nerazzurri lost to city rivals AC Milan in the derby.

That derby defeat, along with some relatively unnecessary dropped points against the likes of Genoa and Monza, raised one or two doubts about whether Inter have dropped off from last season.

And there is still a long way to go. It is not as though there haven’t been issues on display in recent matches even as Inter have been winning.

But Inter are certainly starting to build form.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi Hails “Positive Sign” Of Three Wins On The Bounce

After yesterday’s match, Inzaghi said that “We begin with the three wins in the space of a week.”

“The coach, the club, and the fans are happy,” he said.

The Inter coach noted that “We’re following our own path.”

“We always want to improve,” he continued. “We’re analyzing a lot of things on video and on the pitch, with situations where unfortunately we’ve repeated some errors to night.”

“There’s still more that we can do,” Inzaghi admitted.

“But I congratulated the guys, because three wins in a row is a positive sign,” he said.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi answered a question on whether midfielder Nicolo Barella will be back from a thigh injury after the international break.

“We’ll see one day at a time,” the Inter coach said of Barella.

“I haven’t seen him on the pitch in two weeks. He’s not training on the pitch yet.”

“There’s confidence,” Inzaghi said of Barella’s recovery. “He’ll need another week between therapy and the gym, then he can start to work with us in training again.”

“We know how important he is for us,” the Inter coach said.

“He’s working hard to return as soon as possible.”

And of striker Marcus Thuram, Inzaghi said that “He took a blow to the tendon, and he was complaining of some pain at the end of the first half.”

“Then he asked to be substituted off,” the Inter coach said.

“Now he’s putting ice on it. He was happy for the win but also a little worried, and I am as well.”

“He’ll be evaluated between our medical staff and France’s,” Inzaghi said of Thuram.
