Young Inter Milan forward Giacomo De Pieri says that Man City midfielder Phil Foden is his idol in football.
The 18-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after making his Champions League debut yesterday.
Teenage forward De Pieri made his debut in the Champions League yesterday.
The 18-year-old came on as a substitute late in the match. He entered the pitch in place of Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez.
De Pieri helped Inter Milan see out a 3-0 win over Monaco. This was enough to secure their place directly in the round of sixteen of the Champions League.
After the match, young forward De Pieri said that “There’s nothing to say about it.”
“It’s a unique feeling,” he admitted.

De Pieri called making his debut for Inter in the Champions League “a dream come true.”
“The stadium, the emotion, it all speaks for itself. It’s a debut that makes me feel very honoured.”
Of his call-up to the senior squad for the European fixture, De Pieri said that “I was calm because I trained with them during the week.”
“I felt at ease,” the 18-year-old added. “Thanks to my teammates.”
“I’m very happy,” said De Pieri. “It’s a special feeling.”
The young forward said that his senior teammates “are all top-level players, and there’s something that I want to take from every one of them.”
“I read the messages from my family,” he added. “They were very happy.”
“I hope this is just the beginning of a great career. My dream is that I can keep on playing in the Champions League.”
De Pieri also noted that “Over the last two years my position has been as a right-winger, but I can also adapt to playing as a striker in a front two.”
“Or as a wingback or a midfielder.”
“The idol that I take the most inspiration from is Foden,” De Pieri. He called the Manchester City star “a aplayer with great quality.”
And the poster that he had in his room growing up, he revealed, was Lionel Messi.
