The 19-year-old should return from his summer vacation in the coming days. However, he won’t dwell at Appiano Gentile for too long, as his transfer to Marseille now appears imminent.

Despite showing great promise during his loan spell at Monza last season, Inter have decided to sacrifice the youngster’s services.

Simone Inzaghi felt the player would struggle for playing time at San Siro, so the management is using the opportunity to register some profit.

The Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with OM over the transfer in the past few days.

Moreover, Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews) insists that Carboni is fully in favor of the move. He has been totally convinced by Roberto De Zerbi’s project at the Velodrome.

But before making the switch to Ligue 1, the attacking midfielder will first sign a contract extension with Inter. This will push back the deadline from June 2027 to 2029, and would give the Italian champions extra leverage over the youngster’s future.

Afterwards, the young player will complete an initial loan move for 1 million euros. Marseille will have an option to buy the Argentina international for 36 million euros.

For their part, Inter would be able to regain the player’s services thanks to a buy-back option. They would repay the transfer fee splashed by the French side while adding an extra 5 million euros.

The source also expects Carboni to earn around 1 million euros per season during his stay with the Ligue 1 giants.
